Local ordinance requires every household and business to have garbage collection. Each city is divided into zones that have a designated day for garbage and recycling pick up.
Each city licenses garbage haulers. Residential households may select a licensed hauler of their choice. Townhomes are considered single family housing, but the associations select their garbage hauler. The hauler provides garbage carts. Haulers are required to offer optional yard waste and organics recycling collection. Haulers will charge extra for those services. Per State law haulers must charge all customers for organics recycling service.
Garbage cart should be set at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on your collection day and returned that day to a storage place out of common site.
